Pick Up Your Holds Curbside

Our convenient Curbside Holds Pickup service makes picking up library materials like books, DVDs and CDs that you've place on hold easier than ever before! Our staff will bring your items directly to your vehicle! Once you've received your pickup notification, park in the designated curbside spot and call the number on the sign (or use the Jax Library mobile app). Note: Curbside service ends at 6 p.m.

The Freedom Shrine

In May 2006, the Jacksonville Public Library received the Freedom Shrine from the Exchange Club of Jacksonville.

The Freedom Shrine is an impressive, permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Gettysburg Address.

Other documents, such as The Epitaph of Young Benjamin Franklin show the determination of Americans to better themselves, while McAuliffe's Christmas Message demonstrates American willingness to stand firm for the cause of freedom.

All of these remarkable documents serve as windows to the world of America's proud past. They show our nation's youth the strength and courage of their forefathers by allowing them to read, with their own eyes, the immortal words of inspired Americans who so decisively changed the course of history.
