Brandon Mack

Brandon Mack, Board of Library Trustee

Brandon Mack is a public affairs professional with over fifteen years of experience in building and leveraging relationships with various community stakeholder groups. He possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC, and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Florida. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2021 and the Hightower Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

Brandon is currently a Special Projects Manager with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority where he focuses primarily on community affairs and workforce development. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Family and Community Engagement for Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) where he provided oversight to the district’s Parent Academy, 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, community engagement efforts, community partnerships, volunteer management, and special projects for all local public schools and the district. Under his leadership, the district launched the Parent Champion Program to empower parents at each school to help drive parent engagement and the School Volunteer Badging System at all schools to increase school safety. Prior to his time serving the students and families of DCPS, he was the Program Coordinator for One Church One Child of Florida where he recruited prospective foster and adoptive parents for children in foster care and the Minority Volunteer Recruiter for the Guardian ad Litem program which utilizes community volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused, abandoned, and neglected children.

Outside of work, Brandon enjoys serving the community in which he lives. He is the Director of the Guide Right Program for the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, the fraternity’s national service program for mentoring and preparing our next generation of leaders. He is a board member of the Arlington Council of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, where he is the Education Committee Chair, the Gamma Beta Boule’ Foundation, the Kappa Alpha Psi Jacksonville Foundation, and Blessings in a Backpack along with being involved in several other organizations. Brandon takes pride in doing his part to ensure that people, and students in particular, have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to be successful.
