#Fostering Creativity and Imagination
Ever wonder what it takes to become a published author? As the author of Teemu the Emu and other upcoming releases, our friend and former library staff member Mr. Joe offers kids a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of storytelling this September at Mandarin Library. This is the perfect chance for young, aspiring artists and writers to discover the magic of storytelling within themselves.
Mr. Joe, also known as Joe Gaskin, holds a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from Florida State University. Local families know him for his fun and engaging storytimes at Jacksonville Public Library and other spots around NE Florida. In 2021, the "Hello Mr. Joe" series was born to bring the magic of storytime to audiences everywhere, with community partners including Jacksonville Public Library, Cummer Museum, MOSH, MOCA, and First Coast News.
