# Calling All Pre-K Friends & Families!
Join us for a Preschool Party featuring a special read-aloud of Rainbow Soup -- one of the eight all-new books included in this year's JaxKids Book Club backpack! The first 50 families in attendance will receive a tote from our partners at Harveys Supermarket containing all the fresh fruit and other ingredients you'll need to make "Rainbow Soup" at home!
Upcoming Events

- We're throwing a special party during Celebrate Reading Week just for preschoolers in the Children's Room! Storytimes start at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. by the manatee couch!
No registration is required for these events; however, we do ask participants to arrive a few minutes early to sign in before the event. We also ask parents/caregivers to complete a short program survey after the event.
These events are sponsored by Harveys Gives Foundation, in collaboration with the Library Foundation of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Public Library.
# Even More "Owlsome" Giveaways
After the read-aloud, join library staff and volunteers for games, crafts, and more "owlsome" giveaways like a JaxKids Book Club reusable lunch tote and water bottle! There will also be JaxKids Book Club backpacks (while supplies last) for any four-year-old who did not receive their eight free books at a Voluntary Pre-K center in September or October.
Make Learning and Reading Fun
JaxKids Book Club provides free books for all Duval County preschoolers. Families can keep and use these books at home to build early literacy skills and foster a love of reading. In the pages of these colorful books, children will find familiar landmarks and locations around Jacksonville, while also developing the skills necessary to ensure they become strong readers.
Studies show that young children whose parents read to them daily have been exposed to 290,000 more words by the time they enter kindergarten than kids who aren’t read to regularly. That is why we are happy to give four-year-olds in Duval County eight amazing books to start or grow their home library!
