Lit Chat Author Talk with Mary Lou Sutherlin

Mary Lou Sutherlin (Granny Lou) is a poet from North Manchester, Indiana who has lived in Jacksonville for forty years. She studied at Purdue University and worked at Vistakon, developing contact lenses, and also at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. Her poetry chapbook is titled “Hearthsongs.”

Lit Chat Interview with Rebecca Brenner Graham

Dr. Rebecca Brenner Graham is the author of the new book, Dear Miss Perkins: A Story of Frances Perkins's Efforts to Aid Refugees from Nazi Germany (to be released January 21, 2025) and a postdoctoral research associate at Brown University. She previously taught at the Madeira School and American University and has a PhD in history from American University.

In 2023, Brenner Graham was awarded a Cokie Roberts Fellowship from the National Archives Foundation and a Rubenstein Center Research Fellowship from the White House Historical Association. Her writing has been published in The Washington Post, Time, Slate, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. This Lit Chat Interview is a 60-minute program consisting of a 40-minute conversation between author Dr. Rebecca Brenner Graham and Professor Jennie Ziegler, followed by 20 minutes of audience Q&A.
